a- Nova Scholar is merit-based, not pay-to-play. While we charge tuition to fairly compensate our expert mentors and maintain a quality platform, admission is selective. Every applicant goes through an application and interview process. We admit students who show dedication, curiosity, and readiness to grow, not just anyone who can pay.

Acceptance rates vary by program. Beyond the numbers, Nova Scholar looks for intellectual curiosity, passion for learning, and commitment to working thoughtfully with mentors. Unlike traditional programs, we don't require transcripts or recommendation letters. We assess creativity, dedication, and grit through interviews and conversations.

The Nova Scholar application process has four steps:
1- Complete the online application in under 30 minutes, outlining your interests and goals
2- If selected, participate in a short video interview (Research Program and AI Product Launch only)
3- Receive an acceptance decision within 2 to 3 days after the interview
For Middle School Project Labs, all qualified students are admitted if space is available. Similarly, Nova Scholar Program Alumni do not need a video interview.
See our Application Process page for complete details.

For the Research Program and AI Product Launch, most applicants receive an interview invitation. The admissions team reviews your application, and if accepted, you'll get an offer letter with clear next steps.
Nova Scholar emphasizes the interview because we want to ensure students have genuine intellectual curiosity, can collaborate effectively, and feel confident discussing their passions. Strong communication and motivation matter more than perfect grades or test scores.

Yes! Students can apply to Nova Scholar programs in advance and request to defer their start date. When applying, simply indicate your preferred start term: summer, fall, winter, or spring. Our admissions team will accommodate your timing. This lets you secure your spot early while planning around school schedules and other commitments.

Yes. All students who successfully complete a Nova Scholar program receive an official certificate of completion. This certificate can be included on college applications, resumes, or academic portfolios to showcase the skills and projects you've developed. Email admin@novascholar.education after finishing your program to request your certificate.

The Nova Scholar AI Product Launch is an online program for high school students (grades 9 to 12) who want to design, build, and publish a real AI-powered app or software product. Over 2 to 4 months, students:

Build with AI tools alongside expert mentors from top universities
Launch their product in the App Store (or online for web apps)
File for patent protection with mentor support
No coding experience required, though students interested in advanced programming, UX design, or development can dive deeper. Small group classes (maximum 5 students per mentor) ensure personalized attention from instructors at top 25 universities.

To some extent. We always make sure to help students refine their idea to make sure it is viable and has real user demand.

No prior coursework is required. Each cohort will have at least one student with a background in computer science, but skills in writing, design, and other areas are just as important. When we accept students, we focus on building well-rounded teams.

The filing will happen within the program. We’ll help you file for either a provisional utility patent such that by the end of the program your student has a "patent pending."

The program runs for 2 to 4 months (8 to 16 weeks), depending on the cohort. A shorter, accelerated 8-week option is available during the summer, while the school-year program spans 16 weeks.

There are set default meeting times.

Yes! Nova mentors can help you develop and refine a science fair project, as well as prepare for competition submissions.

Students can participate in competitions like ISEF and regional/national science fairs.

The timeline varies by journal, but on average, the publication process for a high school research journal takes 3 to 6 months. This includes submission, peer review, revisions, and final acceptance. Some journals may have faster or slower review cycles depending on their schedule and submission volume. We maintain a database of specific journal requirements, timelines, and acceptance rates, and you'll have access to a publication expert to help refine your work for submission.

The Nova Middle School Project Labs program offers weekly small-group mentorship sessions where students explore core concepts in emerging fields and build a showcase project. Along the way, they develop critical thinking skills and gain clarity about what they want to create and pursue in the future.
